I just finished editing this feature documentary called Reject.
Reject examines the impact of social rejection through the findings of scientists, lessons from the classroom and justice system, and first-hand accounts from children and families. From neuroscientists to broken-hearted moms, our lead characters are rejection experts, by choice or by fate, and will illuminate the mitigating power of acceptance.
My cousin Ben Powell invited me to make this short documentary about an impact investing conference that his non-profit Agora Partnerships hosted for social entrepreneurs and investors from around the world. I was inspired to talk to so many brilliant young people striving to change their communities in Latin America by creating good jobs, sustainable industries, and deep economic impact in some of the poorest regions in our hemisphere.
I will be premiering the full length short doc this Friday in Cambridge, MA. The full video will hit the web soon after that. More info about the screening here: http://www.icontact-archive.com/aLJD_qoRs–ArPhrT8fgwddETIIy4psG?w=4
I walked down to Hell’s Gate to see what the east river looked like. It was a sight. The water was at least 4 feet high with tons of white caps. Trees that normally sit above the high tide mark were partially under water. Folks living in zone A better get out while they can.
